My friends and I were in the business of helping people finding their American Dream Home. Now we're out of work, making less money and losing our dream home. I worked with a builder and was laid off a few months after I bought a home from them. Since then we have been struggling deperately and unable to make my mortgage payments, not like the bank would take them anyway after the first two missed payments.
We make about 25k less per year than before. Even my husband, who runs a mall restaurant, is struggling to stay in business. His job is threatened on a daily basis, why? because the mall is slow. I tried to start a website to help support people who were also displaced from the industry, guess what - now I can't afford the $20 a month to keep that up.
What happens to the hard working, family supporting, good people? We didn't rip anyone off, we didn't sell bad loans, we helped people get into a home. What can we do? I mean honestly, I've looked at everything. Part time jobs won't hire us because we're overqualified and we make too much (ha ha) to get any kind of assistance.
I'm totally and completely lost. If I have to give up my home I will never buy again, I'm too old and too tired of struggling.
